Preheat oven to 375°F, cream together 1cup butter, 1cup white and ½ cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla, beat in 2 eggs. Sift together 2 ¼ cups flour with 1 teaspoon baking-powder, 1 teaspoon salt - add to batter and mix well.
Stirr in 12 ounces of chocolate chips (semisweet). Drop in teaspoons on ungreased cookie-sheet, about 1 inch apart. Bake 10 -12 minutes - remove from sheet while still warm.
